Medusa’s School of Self-Defense aims to train neighbors to protect themselves, their households, and if necessary, the people and places they call community, as physical defense and community have proved tried and true for countless humans across the millennia getting through turbulent times.

No one is coming to save us, but we are not helpless.

Medusa’s School’s students study and train, if not for their communities, then for themselves, vowing to do no harm, but if the circumstance requires:

take no shit.

At this time, we hope to spread discreetly, locally, and organically through word of mouth, outside of the surveillance architecture of social media platforms, where many bad actors live. Furthermore, we believe that community-driven direct resource-sharing within our locality can be as powerful an algorithm as social media’s attention-deficit model delivering happy accidents through hashtags and personalized recommendations from data hoarding.
